Chapter 1: Introduction to Advantage+ Creative?

Updated over a year ago

What is Advantage+ Creative?

Advantage+ Creative is a set of features that give your ads more flexibility on how they appear to different users. Instead of creating several ads with a fixed format, you can opt-in to various enhancements which will create more variations of your ad. This way you can keep your ad structure simple, while covering more creative options.

Advantage+ Creative for Catalogs

This enhancement gives your Carousel ads the flexibility to appear as a Collection ad when deemed more likely to drive better performance. When enabled, Meta will create a dynamic video showcasing several of the products featured in the collection.

Please note that Meta will use your primary image for the video, which might be different from the template you have selected in the carousel setup.

Optionally, you can upload your own hero image or video that represents your product set. This is very useful when launching new collections or sales campaigns for which you have static creative assets available. With this setup, you can add a branding flair to your dynamic ads!

Adapt to Placement

This feature will enable ads to show vertical images in vertical placements (e.g. Reels, Stories). The system will pick the first 9:16 image available. When you use ROIH for templates, it will pick the first 9:16 template that you have saved in your catalog.

For Instagram Stories, you have the option to turn off a product showcase. When turned disabled, Instagram Stories will show full sized template instead of the 4 thumbnails that are usually shown for carousels on the placement.

Dynamic Media

This option gives the ad the ability to show video as well as images when available on the catalog. Dynamic Media picks the format which is most likely to drive conversions. It also chooses the best video for given placement in case you have multiple videos per product.

When Automatic Image Cropping is enabled, vertical video formats will be cropped to fit every placement. That’s useful for using 9:16 videos in feed placements. Don’t forget to design videos with the safe zones in mind. Turn the cropping off when you want to avoid making your vertical videos smaller.

When creating single image ads, you have the option to force video delivery. In that case, video will always be shown if available for the given product.
