Applying Image Templates on TikTok

Image templates turn the plain product photos in your catalogue into on-brand ad creative, automatically, across your whole catalogue, with no redesigning each ad by hand.

Templates apply to TikTok from Creative Factory with the same flow as any other channel: pick a template, pick the channel, pick the ads.

What to know before you apply a template on TikTok

  • Any aspect ratio works. A TikTok template slot is not tied to a fixed ratio. 9:16 suits full-screen placements best, but a 1:1 template built for another channel can be reused as it is.

  • One template per ad. No combining several templates or ratios on a single TikTok ad.

  • Ten templates per catalogue. This is a TikTok limit. When you're at the limit and apply a new template, you'll be offered a choice of which paused-ad-only templates to free up. (ROI Hunter only automatically disconnects a template once none of your ads use it any more.)

  • Eligible for Smart+ catalog ads. Any ad group with a product set attached can carry a template, campaign type does not change that.

  • Use the preview link in Creative Factory. TikTok Ads Manager does not reliably show applied templates. Always generate a fresh link - an older link shows the state at the time it was created.
