AI Credits: How Pricing & Limits Work

AI Credits are the currency used across all AI enhancements — Background Removal, Background Generation, Virtual Photoshoot, and any future AI enhancement. Every enhancement draws from the same shared credit balance.

How it works

Cost per enhancement

Enhancement

Cost

Background Removal

1 credit per image

Background Generation

2 credits per image

Virtual Photoshoot

5 credits per image

You’re never charged twice for the same image: if several product variants share one underlying image (for example, different sizes of the same product), only one credit is used, and previously generated images are reused for free.

Free credits

Every client receives 10,000 free credits, regardless of deal size or number of brands.

  • If you’re part of a group deal (several companies sharing one contract), the 10,000 credits are shared across the whole group, not given per company.

  • Free credits are tied to your contract, not to a time period — a new or renewed contract brings a fresh 10,000 credits.

Before you commit: the Cost overview

Whether you’re applying an AI-enabled template to an ad or launching a generation job in AI Creative Studio, you’ll see a Cost overview before confirming, showing:

  • The highest possible cost — a worst-case estimate in AI credits

  • Your remaining balance

  • A breakdown by enhancement (e.g., “Background Generation: 10,800 AI credits for 10,800 images”)

  • A link to your Billing page

The final cost is often lower than the estimate shown, since shared and previously generated images aren’t charged again.

Purchasing additional credits

Buying more credits currently goes through your account team rather than directly in the platform — reach out to your CSM. An in-platform purchase option is planned. Purchasing additional credits requires signing an amendment to your contract.

Your Billing page

The AI Credits section of your Billing page shows:

  • A monthly overview of credits spent

  • A breakdown by enhancement type

  • For group deals, how many credits each company in the group has used

Good to know

Before you apply an enhancement or launch a generation job, the platform checks your product set size and credit balance — here's what you might see:

  • Blocked — product set too large:
if a single ad’s product set exceeds 100,000 products, you won’t be able to apply the enhancement to it. You’ll see a message showing your product set size versus the limit, with an option to contact support. This limit applies per ad, not to the sum of all your ads — for example, one ad with 55,000 products and another with 60,000 are both fine; the issue only arises if a single ad has more than 100,000.

  • Warning — may exceed your balance:
if the estimated cost is higher than your remaining balance, you’ll see a warning, but you can still proceed. Images will keep generating until your credits run out; anything not yet processed will simply use the plain main image instead.

  • We recommend testing AI Enhancements on smaller product sets first, so you make the most of your free credits before scaling up.

FAQ

Do all AI enhancements draw from the same credit balance?
Yes, credits are shared across Background Removal, Background Generation, Virtual Photoshoot, and any future AI enhancement.

Will I be charged twice if the same image is used for several product variants?
No — shared images are only charged once, and previously generated images are reused for free.

What happens if I run out of credits mid-generation?
Generation pauses. Anything already processed keeps its AI-enhanced image; anything not yet processed falls back to the plain main image. There’s no ad downtime. Generation resumes automatically once you top up.

How do I get more credits?
Contact your CSM or account team — purchasing additional credits requires a contract amendment. An in-platform purchase option is coming.

Is there a limit to how many products I can apply an enhancement to?
Yes, up to 100,000 products per ad (product set); we recommend staying at or below 10,000 for best results.
