Integration: Markets and Assets

Updated over a year ago

Intro

The Markets and Assets page is available through navigating from the "Settings" menu option in the left menu pane and selecting "Markets and Assets".

Market

A market is a single united place used for data connection and organization. It is the main point where accounts, catalogs, and/or product sources are connected for use in the ROIH platform. A market can be considered as a Business Unit which defines factors like:

  • Location (area of operation, sale, etc)

  • Different online store (as a different brand)

For any kind of product information to be useable in the platform, it must first be connected in a Market. Successful connection of an account, catalogs, product sources, and other data enables:

  • The running of ads using connected data in the ROIH platform

  • The downloading of product performance data used in product performance management

Market Data Health

Be sure to monitor your markets' data health to ensure reliable data insights. This is a process of making sure everything is connected with both accuracy and completion. Good data means you can trust the information you find. If your data isn't healthy, you'll need to fix it.

For more information on monitoring and improving your data health, read here: Integration: Data Health.

How to Create a Market

    1. Store name and location define the market

    2. Currency specifies which denominational unit of currency will be used

    3. Time zone affects the time of statistics download (which time of day your data will be recalculated)

  3. Click the "Create" button

Asset

An asset is any data source that can be connected to a market. It's important to consider the type of asset and how it can provide certain types of data about your product performance.

There are two different groups of assets:

  • Advertising assets

  • Analytical assets

Advertising Asset

Advertising assets provide information about the product spend in product ads. In order to provide flexibility to a wide variety of setups, one advertising asset is always defined as the combination of:

  • The ad account

  • The source of the products:

    • Pairing the Meta catalog and the Ad Account used for advertising

    • Pairing the Google Product Source and the Google Ad Account

Each of your advertising assets should be connected to the single market which is most suitable for calculating the corresponding statistics you need to optimize your product performance.

To avoid data duplication, one advertising asset (i.e. one combination of the Catalog/Ad Account or Google Product Source/Ad Account) can only be connected to one market. In case it is not possible to assign unique pairs of Ad Accounts and Catalogs or Google Product sources to your markets, then it is an indication that fewer markets should be used.

Consider the following example of a correct setup with different locations:

UK Market:
General Ad Account + UK catalog

US Market:
General Ad Account + US catalog

However, this setup would be invalid if the same Ad Account and the same catalog were used in more than one market.

Analytical Asset

Analytical assets are accounts and data streams which provide information about your product performance such as revenue, number of items sold, detail views, add to carts, etc. ROIH supports native integration of Google Analytics 4.

It's also possible to connect any other analytics data on the product level (Adobe, Branch, etc) through custom integration to the ROIH platform.

To avoid data duplication, one analytical asset (e.g. one GA4 property with the same country filter) can only be connected to one market.
