GA4 Setup Guide
It is advised to connect GA4 as soon as possible to have historical data before UA is discontinued. However, to best assist you during this transition, ROIH can provide historical data upon request.
Overview of necessary steps:
Markets and Assets: Connect GA4 data to the market
Product Sets/Groups: Navigate to features currently using UA (e.g. Meta Product Sets or Google Product Groups) and manually edit existing GA-U filters to GA4
Autorules: Navigate to Autorules and manually add GA4 metrics
1. Markets and Assets
Navigate to Settings > Markets and Assets
Click "Market Detail" to the right of a market
Select the Analytical Assets tab
In the GA4 panel, click "Add asset" and integrate the data
Repeat for all Markets using UA
2. Product Sets/Groups
If you want your Product Sets and Product Groups to filter products based on GA4 data from the whole month, please wait 30 days after your GA4 integration before continuing with the next steps.
However, to prevent data pairing issues with your product inventory feed, it is strongly advised to avoid SKU changes during the transition from UA to your new analytics source.
If you want to proceed immediately:
Please contact ROIH Support to request a manual download of 30 days of your GA4 data before continuing with the next steps.
Or create segments with the same filters in the new Product Insights and use those as your Product Sets or Product Groups

Q: Where are all the places UA is connected in the ROIH platform?
A: There are multiple UA connection points in ROIH:
Connected from Markets and Assets: this is the newest and recommended method
Connected manually for each virtual account: for use with autorules and for analytics data in Campaign Insights
Connected to Catalogs: for use with Product Sets
Connected in Google Settings: for use with Product Groups
GA4 only needs to be connected in Markets and Assets!
Q: What will the actual process of changing from UA to GA4 look like for my data?
Q: What will the actual process of changing from UA to GA4 look like for my data?
A: There are different behaviors for UA to GA4 transitions based on how you have UA connected to a market:
Campaign Insights: There will be two columns, one for UA and one for GA4.
UA continues downloading data
GA4 history of approximately 10 days will be downloaded automatically (longer periods available upon request)
Product Sets/Groups: UA will continue downloading, GA4 needs to be manually selected
UA continues downloading data until the July 1st
GA4 will not have history (up to 30 days of history available upon request)
However, using segments in the filter will make use of UA history
Alternatively, connect GA4 as soon as possible and edit the product sets after 1 month so it has 30 days of history
Segments/Product Insights: Data is taken automatically from Markets and Assets. GA4 data downloading will start once UA data downloading ends.
UA stops downloading data
GA4 will start downloading data
Q: Can I safely change my product SKUs during the UA Sunset?
Q: Can I safely change my product SKUs during the UA Sunset?
A: It is strongly advised to avoid SKU changes during the transition from UA to your new analytics source. Doing so may cause issues with the proper pairing of data in your existing product inventory.
Q: Will changing to GA4 make the match rate of my inventory worse? What can I do if it does?
Q: Will changing to GA4 make the match rate of my inventory worse? What can I do if it does?
A: Don't hesitate to contact ROIH Support for help with any problems. There are a few ways to confirm your match rate will remain in good quality:
Double check the product IDs, to reduce the risk of poor match rates. If the IDs are the same, then there should be no issues with match rate.
Monitor the data health of your markets to ensure that the transition has not affected your match rate. These data health indicators are seen anywhere that markets are displayed, such as Markets and Assets or Product Insights.
For certain cases with very large inventories, it may help to connect the data on a test market so ROIH Support can confirm that the transition will not create any new issues.
Q: I have a lot of product sets, is there a way to find out which specific ones I need to change?

Q: Is it possible to split GA4 data into multiple countries after I transition?
A: Yes, GA4 data can be filtered using a country filter in ROIH. One GA4 account can be connected with multiple markets with multiple country filters.
During this same time period, ROIH is also unifying product data sources, so you have the benefit of managing both changes in one single instance for your convenience.
Setting up segments in Product Insights will empower you to better use Product Insights functionality and also strengthen your analytical sources with Campaign Insights.
